A fan edit of Ty and Amy set to MisterWives’ “Our Own House” went up on YouTube in March 2016. It has nearly 380,000 views. Watch it today and it lands differently than it did then.
It opens on the wedding. Amy in white, Ty in a black suit, and one line before the music kicks in: “So I guess I did it. I married the boy in the loft.”
Then the song starts and the edit gets to work. The loft gets framed, plumbed, and furnished from a yard sale. Jack and Tim help with the build. A pipe bursts. Somebody hauls a huge table up the stairs. It’s a house going up board by board, which is the whole point.
The edit cuts back to early Ty in his dark jacket, the kid who came to the ranch with nothing and trusted nobody. Graham Wardle never played him as a polished bad boy. He played him guarded and stiff, like he was waiting to get thrown out. That’s why the later shots work. Ty in blue gloves treating a horse. A stethoscope around his neck. A graduation cap. A nameplate that reads “Dr. Tyler Borden, D.V.M.” A plaque on the door with both their names.
None of that came fast on the show. The edit doesn’t need to say so. Anyone who watched remembers how long it took.
The rest is small stuff: waking up, cooking, Christmas by the tree, feeding each other in the trailer. It ends in the snow with Amy telling him, “You’re gonna be a father.”
That’s where it stops. Happy, in winter, with everything ahead of them.
Fans know what came next. Ty died in the Season 14 premiere in January 2021, after Wardle decided it was time to leave the show he’d been on since 2007. The house they started on Jack’s land was never finished with him in it.
So the edit plays like a time capsule now. Every hammer swing, every hug, every joke in the trailer is something the show later took away. That’s why people still post clips like this, and why “Our Own House” still gets comments years later.

I hope that Ty and Amy can get back as close as they were before he had to leave. I love ❤️ them together and hope they can be a family together again !!!! The love ❤️ they had for each other was so genuine and hope and pray it is still there. I know that Jack will be glad that Ty is back. I love ❤️ this family, the only one that kinda gets on my last nerve. Is Tim !!!!
We all know how Tim is and he gets on everybody nerve. Just hope Nathan can find someone to make him happy, I’m glad he was there for Amy but now Ty is back and I pray that they can get their love ❤️ and family back like it was or better. I love ❤️ them together . I vote for TY AND AMY to be together !!!

Oh i definitely understand that. Their love ❤️ reminds me of the love my late husband and I had. Even though he has been gone 10 yrs , my heart is still just as full of his love. ❤️ We were married for 45 1/2 years. He was the only man I ever dated. We dated for 8 months then got married and were together 45 1/2 years after that. No everything wasn’t always good , we had a moments that were not so good but the good made up for the rough patches. We were each others Soulmates
Very professional. This is so much like my late husband’s and my young love life, then married life. This is the main reason I miss “Ty and Amy” on Heartland
I have watch Heartland ever since it came on many years ago. . I was so sad to see Ty leave. But I’m so glad he is back. Prayers for Ty, Amy and Their precious little girl !!!
