Canadian fans have already been living Season 20 for a couple of weeks. U.S. fans have been waiting for the same chapters to cross the border.

That wait ends on Thursday, November 19.

Heartland Season 20 premieres exclusively on UP Faith & Family, the streaming home where American audiences usually meet new seasons first. New episodes drop weekly on Thursdays. After Episode 5, the show takes a four-week holiday break, then returns on Thursday, January 14, 2027.

Twenty seasons in, the Bartlett-Fleming ranch is still making U.S. calendars mark a date in ink.

The U.S. schedule, week by week

UP Faith & Family laid out the full drop calendar on its help page.

Episode 1 lands November 19. Episode 2 hits on Thanksgiving Day, November 26. Episodes 3 through 5 follow on December 3, 10, and 17 — that last one labeled as the mid-season finale.

Then the break.

From December 18 through January 13, nothing new. Catch-up time. Family time. The kind of pause a show this long has earned.

Episode 6 returns January 14. Episodes 7 through 9 follow weekly. Episode 10, the Season 20 finale on the U.S. slate, arrives February 11, 2027.

Premiere night also comes with a live virtual viewing event — a watch party where fans can stream together and talk through the first chapter in real time.

Amy’s choice, a flashy rival, and Jack’s next project

Season 20 does not ease anyone in gently.

Amber Marshall‘s Amy is still sitting with Nathan’s proposal and what saying yes would mean for her life at Heartland. The ranch has always been her center of gravity. A new future with Nathan asks her to weigh that against something else.

Into that uncertainty rides Winn, played by Brynn Godenir. She is a horse whisperer with serious skill, a fashion streak, and a big online following — the kind of arrival that leaves Amy watching her carefully. For a deeper look at how close Marshall’s own life runs to Amy’s, there is this feature.

Lou has her next big business idea lined up, then gets pulled sideways by an impending milestone as Katie grows more independent. Jack is slow to trust Dex after last season’s disappointment. Once Dex proves he is willing to change, Jack starts helping him find his footing in the rodeo — and in life.

And Alisha Newton is back as Georgie. After the Austria offer that closed out her last big chapter away from Hudson, fans get her at the dinner table again.

None of that is filler. It is the same mix Heartland has always sold: horses, family pressure, and the slow work of deciding who you are when the land keeps asking more of you. Shaun Johnston‘s Jack already faced that head-on in the premiere’s stroke story — the one that asked whether he would retire, and ended with him tearing up the offer instead. That beat is unpacked here: Jack’s stroke and why he stayed.

“As close to its Canadian premiere” as U.S. fans usually get

Crissie Miller, vice president of content strategy at UP Entertainment, put the network’s bet in plain language:

“One of the things we love most about Heartland is the incredible connection fans have to the series and its characters. For years, we’ve been proud to be the destination where U.S. audiences can watch new seasons of Heartland first, and we’re thrilled to once again bring Season 20 to our subscribers so close to its Canadian premiere.”

She called the watch party a chance to celebrate together and connect as the story keeps going.

Canada already started Season 20 on October 4 on CBC and CBC Gem. The U.S. window is later, but not by much — close enough that holiday catch-up still feels like being in the same chapter, not a year behind.

Heartland remains Canada’s longest-running one-hour drama. Amber Marshall has said she will do the show till she dies. Twenty seasons after a pilot that some people on set did not expect to last, the American schedule is still getting a premiere date, a holiday break, and a January return.

November 19. Thursdays. Then January 14.
