Lifetime is moving forward with not one but two sequels to Buried in Barstow, and Angie Harmon is back at the center of it all.
The network has set up Buried in Barstow: Blood for Blood and Buried in Barstow: The Reckoning (both working titles), with Harmon returning to star as former assassin Hazel King and executive producing both films.
Kristoffer Polaha is also coming back as Elliot, the former doctor trying to rebuild his career while building a new life with Hazel, and Lauren Ashley Richards will reprise her role as Hazel’s daughter Joy.
Two new names are joining the cast as well. Megan Follows, known for her role in Reign, is playing Zadie, the head of a powerful construction family whose business eventually puts her on a collision course with Hazel. And in what might be the most personal piece of casting news here — Harmon’s real-life daughter, Finley Sehorn, is making her acting debut in both films, playing a young version of Hazel.
The franchise follows Hazel as she tries to leave her past behind and build something quieter for herself and her daughter. It never quite works out that way. New threats keep showing up, old connections resurface, and Hazel keeps getting pulled back into the kind of situations she was trying to escape. The sequels will continue that thread, digging further into loyalty, motherhood, and whether someone like Hazel can ever really get a clean slate.
Both films are being produced by Nomadic Pictures. Alexandra La Roche is directing both. Thompson Evans wrote the script for Blood for Blood, and Chris Pozzebon wrote The Reckoning.
On top of the two sequels, Harmon will also direct a Ripped from the Headlines movie for Lifetime as part of an existing production deal she has with the network. All three projects are set to air in 2027.
