On a beautiful day in Alberta's Big Sky Country – July 27th, 2013 – actress Amber Marshall, best known for her role as Amy Fleming on the popular show Heartland, said "I do" to her longtime boyfriend, Shawn Turner. They had been dating for three and a half years and got engaged in the spring of 2012.

The wedding was picture-perfect, with adorable cowboy-themed ring-bearers and flower girls riding miniature ponies down the aisle. Amber made a grand entrance on horseback, riding sidesaddle on her beloved horse, led by her father, David. She looked stunning in a gorgeous, full-length white wedding gown. True to her love for animals, her dog Remi, who also makes appearances on Heartland, joined one of her bridesmaids.

Shawn arrived in style – by helicopter – at Amber's A-Ark Ranch. Looking dapper in cowboy formal wear, including a black ten-gallon hat, he met Amber at a beautiful outdoor altar he built with friends using local timber. The altar was personalized with their names, and the couple exchanged heartfelt vows in front of their loved ones, all dressed in their finest Western attire. Joining the joyous celebration were fellow Heartland stars Shaun Johnston, Chris Potter, Michelle Morgan, and Alisha Newton, as well as Executive Producer Heather Conkie and Director of Photography Craig Wrobleski.

It's no surprise that Amber's wedding generated so much buzz! Her real-life romance mirrors the sweet storyline of her character Amy Fleming's engagement to Ty Borden (played by Graham Wardle) on Heartland during Season 6. Fans around the world, with Heartland being broadcast in over 115 countries, have been eagerly following both Amber and Amy's love lives.

After the ceremony, Amber and Shawn rode off on their horses, Hawk and Cash. A delicious dinner prepared by Heartland's on-set caterer, Cal-B-Ques, was served by the barn. The celebration continued with lively country and Western dancing under the stunning Rocky Mountains.

In a truly generous gesture, Amber and Shawn decided to forgo wedding gifts and asked guests to make donations to flood relief efforts in southern Alberta. As Alberta residents, they deeply understood the impact of the recent devastating floods, particularly in High River, which serves as the filming location for Heartland.

Amber's wedding took place during a break in filming for the seventh season of Heartland, which is shot in High River. The show's storylines have been captivating, especially after the dramatic Season 6 finale. The seventh season is currently filming, and a crew from CBC LIVE is documenting the wedding celebrations for upcoming broadcasts. They even interviewed the happy couple, their families, and Amber's Heartland castmates.
